Shape the future of private credit investing while helping to manage risk in some of the most complex transactions across Europe. Joining the Credit Risk team within the Risk Management Group, you will work closely with Macquarie Capital to support innovative direct lending investments, providing independent insight and challenge that helps drive informed decision-making and long-term success.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play?

As an Associate Director within the Risk Management Group, you will partner closely with Macquarie Capital to assess, structure and oversee Direct Lending transactions throughout the investment lifecycle. Combining strong credit judgement with commercial awareness, you will analyse complex opportunities, evaluate risks and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders, helping to support sound investment decisions. You will build trusted relationships across the business, contribute to the ongoing development of the team’s risk approach and capabilities, and provide leadership, coaching and people management support within the team.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our advertised location.

What You Offer

  • 10+ years of credit risk experience, ideally gained within direct lending, private credit or leveraged finance environments
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis, credit assessment and reviewing transaction and financing documentation
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing and mentoring team members in a high-performance environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior colleagues constructively
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
