Associate Director - Development Infrastructure

The Role: This is a leadership role responsible for the day management of the Development Infrastructure Team across our London and Wimbledon offices, with a focus on delivering high‑quality-built environment projects. The position oversees technical excellence, commercial performance, and successful delivery of a diverse project portfolio. The role also supports the Team Director in proactively developing the opportunity pipeline and driving the strategic growth of the discipline. You will also have key responsibilities delivering and supporting operations and growth strategy, providing leadership across projects (infrastructure, drainage, highways and flood risk management), supporting and seeking business development opportunities. We are looking for an experienced chartered Associate Director. You ideally will have worked as a Civil / Infrastructure Engineer for 15+ years and have minimum of 5 years experience as an Associate Director. You will have experience running and managing a team. You will also have experience working across Infrastructure, drainage, earthworks and flooding projects. Primary Responsibilities: Supporting the direction for the Development Infrastructure team within Elliott Wood’s overall vision. Contributing to strategy, Organisational development and continuous business improvement. Providing effective team leadership and Professional Development, proactively motivate project teams to deliver optimised and sustainable design and construction solutions Provide technical leadership on complex civil engineering projects, ensuring high-quality design and delivery. Provide high standards of financial management to ensure project profitability and to achieve overall team budgets for income and expenditure. Governance of projects to include commercial, financial and risk management. Identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and driving revenue growth. Lead on the preparation of bids/tenders and fee proposals to capitalise on work-winning opportunities. Compliance with and overseeing implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures to include CDM Regulations 2015 Technical governance of projects in compliance with EW IMS quality processes and procedures (ISO 9001 and 14001) Why Elliott Wood: If you are a progressive and talented engineer eager to influence those around you with the same level of understanding and empathy that you bring to your engineering work, we invite you to join us.
