About the Role
Insmed is shaping its Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) capabilities in Cambridge, UK, to accelerate the progression of our growing pipeline of small molecule and antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapeutics. We seek a dynamic and experienced Associate Director DMPK to lead this exciting initiative.
As a Discovery DMPK Project Lead, you will:
- Represent DMPK across multidisciplinary drug discovery teams, applying your ADME and PKPD expertise to drive projects toward successful development candidate nomination.
- Act as a critical bridge between early Discovery and preclinical development.
- Collaborate with chemistry, biology, and informatics teams to leverage advanced modelling and simulation tools for data-driven decision-making.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to help establish and shape DMPK as a core Discovery discipline in a rapidly growing team. You’ll contribute to:
- Defining and refining the UK DMPK strategy.
- Influencing project direction and decision-making.
- Strengthening collaborations with our US DMPK team and external CROs.
- Building a high-performing Discovery DMPK function.
What You’ll Do
- Collaboratively develop and refine UK Discovery ADME and PKPD strategies.
- Design and interpret nonclinical ADME studies to guide molecule optimization and predict human drug disposition.
- Work with chemistry teams to assess and mitigate development risks, using insights from ADME, DDI, and safety data.
- Collaborate with biology to ensure therapeutic drug exposure confidence through analysis of in vitro and in vivo pharmacology.
- Partner with informatics to apply PK, PKPD, and PBPK modelling (e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin, Simcyp, GastroPlus) for accurate human PK projections.
- Provide critical datasets, expertise, and decision-making insight to drive candidate selection, safety margins, and dose optimization.
- Foster strong CRO partnerships to expedite quality DMPK study delivery.
- Engage closely with discovery and US-based teams to align DMPK strategies across sites.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
