Job Description

We believe in bold ideas, diverse perspectives, and the drive to transform knowledge into impact. Here, your curiosity fuels progress, your voice shapes innovation, and your ambition helps redefine what’s possible within science and learning. We are a culture that obsesses over impact, challenges, and drives what’s next to power infinite possibilities for our customers, colleagues, and society at large.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced publisher/in-house editor as an Associate Director, Editorial to lead the successful launch and ongoing development of the expansion of the Advanced brand into the Health Sciences. In this role, you will recruit and lead a global team of Editors in Chief and Deputy Editors responsible for developing and implementing journal and article growth activities across a series of existing and new titles. In addition, with a PhD in a health-related field, you will contribute directly as an Editor to one or more journals in the Advanced portfolio.

You will work in close partnership with the team to shape editorial vision, deliver growth, and establish the journal portfolio for long-term success. Through your extensive networks and relationships, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advocating for Wiley’s Advanced brand in Health Sciences by translating strategic objectives into tactical goals and opportunities for the team.

This is a highly visible role, central to Wiley’s Advanced expansion strategy.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Lead on the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing management of the editorial teams, setting clear expectations, priorities, and success criteria.
  • Provide strategic guidance, operational support, and challenge where needed to ensure delivery of journal objectives.
  • Contribute to identifying future opportunities in the Advanced portfolio in Health Sciences and support further new launches and implement strategic decision-making as a result.
  • Provide leadership and direction for a team of editors, supporting recruitment, performance, and professional growth.
  • Ensure regular, structured reporting on progress, risks, and opportunities by providing evidence of the impact of Advanced Health Sciences and delivery of strategic goals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
