About us:

Global Institutional Banking Coverage, or Coverage, within IB&M leads banking relationship management and the provision of risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide IB&M clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.

We are focused on building deep relationships with large private and public sector organisations, providing clients with bespoke solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives and complex needs globally.

We have teams across 16 cities worldwide in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, China, Japan and Singapore.

Specialised Industries:

  • This team manages our relationships with clients across Real Estate; Infrastructure & Utilities; Living; Aviation (Offshore) and Digital Infrastructure.

Diversified Industries:

  • This team manages our relationships with clients across Agriculture; Food & Beverage; Retail & Consumer; Health; Contractors; Industrials, Logistics & Defence; Telco, Media, Technology.

Financial and Strategic Investors:

  • This team manages our relationships with clients across Sponsors, Insurance and Super Funds.

Financial Institutions and Government:

  • This team manages our relationships with clients across Government; Higher Education; Banks; Diversified Fis; Offshore Public Sectors and ADIs.

Energy, Commodities and Sustainability:

  • This team manages our relationships with clients across Renewable Energy; Other Generation; Mining, Oil & Gas and Commodities.

Chief Operating Office:

  • This team drives operational excellence by optimising processes, managing risk and governance and delivering data-driven insights to support client engagement.

Sitting in IB&M’s Global Client Solutions business, the FIG Ecosystem covers International, Central Banks and Public Sector client relationships through the provisioning of advice, structuring and execution of product solutions tailored to the needs of our client groups.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the FIG ecosystem in our Banks Coverage Team, based in London.

Do work that matters:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic insights and identifying opportunities to deliver tailored banking and financial solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, financial performance and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities and support long-term client strategies.
  • Lead client pitches and transaction execution, coordinating cross-functional deal teams to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional client service.
  • Prepare high-quality transaction materials, including business cases and credit submissions, ensuring robust analysis and timely approvals.
  • Champion a strong risk and control environment by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, governance standards and the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems and data quality, while fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have:

  • 3-5 + years experience in corporate or institutional banking, investment banking or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of industry sectors, market dynamics and the products and services that support corporate clients, including corporate finance, debt capital markets, global markets, transaction banking and risk management.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and clients, identifying opportunities and delivering outstanding client outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial analysis, transaction structuring and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, KYC obligations and risk management principles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics or a related discipline, with the ability to analyse complex financial and legal information and exercise strong commercial judgement.
