Our client, a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is expanding its Edinburgh based Project Management team. With workload continuing to grow, they're now looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director to help lead this next phase of growth.

The Role

As Associate Director, you'll sit at the heart of the team, combining technical delivery, commercial oversight and people leadership. You'll be trusted to run your own client relationships, shape how projects are delivered, and help build the team around you.

Key Elements Of The Role Include

  • Acting as a trusted technical and commercial advisor to clients across multiple sectors
  • Leading and line managing the wider project management team, including Senior PMs, PMs, Assistant PMs and Graduates
  • Growing and retaining key accounts, with genuine scope to win new business through referrals and cross-selling
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of project delivery — leading design teams, managing risk, and putting the right controls in place
  • Overseeing tender documentation, appraisals and negotiations
  • Managing variations and changes once client approval is secured
  • Reporting into senior stakeholders, both internally and with clients and technical partners
  • Contributing to the wider operational direction of the business
  • Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and internal policy

Requirements Of The Associate Director

  • At least 10 years' post-qualification experience
  • Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent
  • Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrable success winning and retaining clients
  • Solid pre-contract experience, including a good working knowledge of NEC
  • A track record of delivering, or advising on, complex construction and development projects
