This Associate Director role is within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) Real Estate team, focusing on crisp cost management, procurement, and project execution—key to shaping dynamic real estate developments.


Key Responsibilities

Cross-Disciplinary Project Leadership

  • Cost management autonomy

    • Conduct feasibility estimates, cost planning, and tender documentation.
    • Evaluate tender submissions, undertake value engineering, and resolve disputes collaboratively.
    • Post-contract management: Disseminate opportunities and maintain client relationships post-delivery.
  • Team and operational accountability

    • Hire, train, and manage the cost consultancy team, ensuring alignment with project goals.
    • Champion cultural values of safety, engagement, and professionalism.
    • Align role expectations via project scope briefings, defining responsibilities clearly at all levels.

Performance Excellence

  • Digital-delivery agility: Leverage software tools for cost management, procurement, and.), and enforce contractual compliance.

  • Problem-solving: Drive solutions for projects across the life cycle—from feasibility to handover—while scaling high-end technical advice to subordinates.

  • Commercial expertise: Actively develop fee proposals through procurement strategy while sharpening negotiation skills within the MEP supply chain.


Essential Qualifications

Core Competencies

✔ Demonstrable credibility in cost management/quantity surveying within MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) sector. ✔ Professional certification such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent. ✔ An undergraduate degree or recognised Higher National Diploma (HNC) in a related field.

Expertise & Experience (Core Matters)

  • Coordinated project delivery: Managing multiple concurrent projects across the project life cycle.
  • MEP expertise: Extensive experience with MEP contract elements, including tier 1–plus supplier relations.
  • Digital capability: Track record of leveraging cost software and project management tools effectively.
  • Commercial acumen: Proven ability in freelance fee generation, procurement negotiation, and hazard management.
