SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen, within a collaborative, people-first culture.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Mineral Surveyors / Mineral Estates Professionals (various levels) to join our established Mineral Estates Management team, delivering high profile and complex property and advisory projects across the UK.

Based in any UK office, remotely, or with a senior leadership role in Newcastle upon Tyne, the role will focus primarily on mineral estates management, valuation and advisory, with additional exposure to mineral planning, development and asset management, as well as wider work spanning infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment sectors. We are happy to consider flexible working, part time or full time positions.

Our Mineral Estates management team brings together specialist chartered mineral surveyors and valuers, planners, geologists, and mining engineers to deliver property solutions for clients throughout the UK. The minerals estates team is renowned for the calibre of advice and support it provides to a wide range of clients, ranging from the largest landed estates and government bodies through to individual surface and mineral owners, and operators. SLR acts as mineral agent to the Crown Estate, the Crown Estate Scotland, Forestry England and the Isle of Man Government to name but a few. We are also the managing agent for Mines Royal throughout the UK.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
