As Operations Transformation Associate Director for the Airline Industry, you will lead and oversee high-impact transformation engagements for large airline clients, combining strategic advisory, programme leadership, stakeholder management and delivery excellence. You will shape engagement vision and approach, ensure alignment to business outcomes, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver sustainable change across people, process, and technology domains.
You will also play a key role in business development — building client relationships, defining value propositions, and contributing to the growth of our airline transformation practice.
Your role will include:
Strategic Leadership & Programme Ownership
- Define the overall transformation strategy and roadmap for clients in the airline industry — covering operating-model redesign, process optimisation, system modernisation, and organisational change
- Lead programme initiation, planning, execution, and delivery — ensuring initiatives meet objectives on scope, time, cost, and quality
- Oversee multiple transformation workstreams (e.g., operations optimisation, passenger experience transformation, digital / IT systems, sustainability, cost-efficiency, organisational redesign)
- Ensure interdependencies, risks, resources and benefits are identified and managed, with clear governance and reporting

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as primary senior-level point of contact with airline clients (C-suite, senior leadership, business unit heads)
- Build trusted advisory relationships, influencing stakeholder alignment, and ensuring buy-in across business and operational teams
- Facilitate workshops and design sessions to co-create future-state models, transformation blueprints, business cases, organisational structures and operating models
Programme Management Excellence
- Manage resources, budgets and financials for transformation programmes; ensure commercial discipline and profitability
- Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams; foster a high-performance culture and build internal capability
Consulting & Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities within the airline sector — leveraging industry knowledge and client relationships to win new engagements
- Develop proposals, shape service offerings, and support go-to-market strategy for the airline transformation practice
- Represent the firm and contribute to thought leadership: participate in industry forums, speak at events, and contribute insights about airline transformation trends (digital, sustainability, operating-model change, customer experience)
- Understand airline business dynamics, regulatory environment, compliance, and operational constraints — shaping transformation solutions that are realistic, pragmatic, and deliver measurable value

The quality of our technical skills is enhanced through our practical knowledge of implementation and our ability to learn from each other.
Although not essential, in addition to the core skills above, we would welcome any of the desirable experience below:
- Proven depth of knowledge of the operational dynamics and industry trends in one or more areas
- Passenger experience transformation (e.g., digital customer journeys, loyalty, contact centre, PSS / GDS / ancillary systems)
- Operations & ground / airport operations, MRO / maintenance systems modernisation,
- Crew & resource management
- Sustainability initiatives
- Experience of use of AI/ Automation to accelerate key operational processes and/or optimise ways of working in one of the above sectors
- Experience developing and leading comprehensive change-management plans — including communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, training & coaching, resistance management and adoption tracking
- Previous consulting experience, whether as an independent advisor or in-house
- Experience of a senior-level operational role in at least one Airline organisation (as an employee or as a consultant/contractor) demonstrating knowledge of the overall operating model of that business
- Experience in generating and developing new business with a track record of translating these into commercial-viable and operationally deliverable B2B sales
- Experience of working effectively as part of a management / leadership team
