Associate Director - Project Management
Associate Director – Infrastructure Projects (Scotlandbased)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To lead and coordinate infrastructure projects, ensuring:
- Robust governance, communication, and project discipline throughout the lifecycle.
- Exceptional performance in health & safety, commercial, risk, and quality delivery.
- Client-focused problem-solving to drive superior project outcomes.
- Active involvement in winning new business and developing a high-performing team of Project Managers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Management Responsibilities
- Define success criteria (time, cost, technical, and performance parameters).
- Ensure (QSH&E) quality, safety, health & environment risks are identified and escalated to line management.
- Establish and enforce effective project governance, processes, and systems.
- Produce and maintain a detailed project plan.
- Procure resources efficiently and advise on staffing needs.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Apply performance management techniques to track progress.
- Implement change control processes, ensuring compliance and impact assessment.
- Monitor and oversee project finances, ensuring financial projections align with project milestones.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, including regular client updates (meetings and written reports).
- Serve as key client liaison, interfacing across all project stages (proposal, execution, handover).

Business Development & Internal Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities with existing/expandable clients and escalate to stakeholders.
- Contribute to bid documentation for new tenders.
- Ensure knowledge management—uploading project learnings to Turner & Townsend’s internal database.
- Oversee financial compliance, including prompt client invoicing and FMS monitoring.
- Drive process improvements, identifying efficiencies in systems and escalating ideas.
- SOX compliance relevant tasks may apply (role-specific).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- NEC-accredited Project Manager certification.
- Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent relevant discipline.
- Proven experience on major highways projects.
