Are you a high-calibre Commercial Management professional ready to take a defining step into a strategic leadership role?

Stafford Lawrence is exclusively partnering with a prestigious, award-winning Multidisciplinary Consultancy on the outskirts of Oxford. We are seeking a Chartered Associate Director QS Cost to spearhead the Quantity Surveying division, driving growth within the Commercial, Residential, and world-leading Life Sciences sectors.

To be successful in this Director-level role, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Commercial Acumen: A proven track record in business development, fee generation, and maintaining high-value client relationships within the Oxfordshire region.
  • Technical Authority: While leadership-focused, you must remain a technical "touchstone" for complex matters including:
    • Pre- and post-contract cost management for multi-million-pound developments.
    • Feasibility studies, procurement strategy, and final account negotiations.
    • Strategic cost advice for specialized R&D and Life Sciences facilities.
  • Network: An established professional network within the Oxford "Golden Triangle" is highly desirable.
  • Eligibility: Candidates must currently reside in the UK with full Right to Work. No Visa Sponsorship is available for this Director appointment.

The Role: Strategic Leadership & Multidisciplinary Growth

As an Associate Director, you will sit at the intersection of financial precision and business growth. Your duties will include:

  • Business Development: Identifying and securing new instructions across the Oxford hub, specifically targeting the booming Science & Tech sectors.
  • Team Evolution: Leading, motivating, and growing the Quantity Surveying team, ensuring quality control and professional standards are met across all projects.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Working alongside Directors in Building Surveying and Engineering to deliver integrated, "one-firm" solutions for blue-chip clients.
  • P&L Responsibility: Managing departmental budgets, fee forecasting, and ensuring the commercial viability of the cost consultancy division.
