Renewable Energy Claims Manager

The Role

This Renewable Energy Claims Manager role sits within the Renewable Energy claims team, responsible for managing a portfolio of complex property, liability, and business interruption claims. The position ensures a client-focused claims service, consistent quality, and effective oversight of team members while supporting the department’s operating plan and claims strategy.


What You’ll Do

Delivery, Planning & Performance

  • Deliver high-quality, commercially focused claims advice within your expertise.
  • Contribute to the department’s operating plan and business objectives.
  • Support the implementation of claims strategies, service standards, and operating principles.
  • Provide accurate, timely management information for decision-making.

Technical Claims Handling & Oversight

  • Manage a portfolio of complex and high-value claims, guiding them to resolution.
  • Serve as a technical referral point for the team on sensitive or challenging issues.
  • Guide claims strategy, including coverage interpretation, insurer engagement, and resolution approaches.
  • Review and prepare claims documentation, ensuring accuracy and appropriate market engagement.
  • Maintain oversight of claims progress to meet service levels and quality standards.

Client, Market & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and manage relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, providing updates and resolving issues.
  • Negotiate with insurers to achieve the best possible client outcomes.
  • Support client meetings, renewals, and tenders where required.

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Ensure claims comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor workflows and process adherence, maintaining accurate records.
  • Identify and support efficiency and quality improvements in systems and data.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and support the performance and development of direct reports.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and oversight to team members.
  • Review and sign off work to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Contribute to recruitment and onboarding within the team.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing complex or high-value insurance claims in:
    • Lloyd’s markets
    • UK or international (re)insurance sectors
  • Strong working knowledge of property, liability, and business interruption claims, ideally in:
    • Renewable energy or natural resources
  • Experience acting as a technical referral point, including supporting others’ development.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with clients, brokers, and insurers, including claim negotiations.
  • Experience contributing to operational improvements, data quality, or process enhancements.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliant claims handling.
  • Experience in team leadership, coaching, or supervision.
