Deloitte's Tax Technology Consulting Team (TTC) has a market leading reputation; bringing together a unique blend of consulting, technology, tax technical and tax reporting experience to help businesses meet the challenges of multi-jurisdictional tax operations, including compliance, reporting, tax technology and tax risk management.
Within TTC, sits our rapidly growing S/4HANA Tax team is at the forefront of SAP-enabled business transformations. This proposition is uniquely positioned to be a key differentiator for the firm-wide SAP-enabled business transformation practice across UK and Europe. This is a unique opportunity to broaden your skillset and become a future SAP Tax Solution Architect, guiding clients through the evolving tax and legal landscape.

Core Responsibilities:
- Lead client engagements: Conduct workshops, analyse tax and business needs, and design optimal SAP tax solutions, considering alternative technologies.
- End-to-end process understanding: Assess tax touchpoints across entire business processes, ensuring comprehensive solution design.
- Solution architect: Design, build, and integrate tax requirements into SAP systems and broader tax technology landscapes.
- Impact assessment: Evaluate the business impact of technical decisions, balancing functionality with operational efficiency.
- Proactive risk management: Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, fostering strong client relationships.
- Documentation and communication: Contribute to proposals, process documentation, and project updates, ensuring transparency and stakeholder alignment.
- Compliance and risk awareness: Adhere to risk management and engagement acceptance protocols, upholding professional standards.
- Team Leader: Cultivate a diverse and inclusive team environment, fostering collaboration, valuing diverse perspectives, and empowering team members to contribute their best.

Connect to your skills and professional experience
Essential:
- Proven track record of successful SAP tax solution design and 3-4 end-to-end implementation in global settings.
- Experience with end to end integration of at least one e-invoicing platforms/providers (including but not limited to SAP DRC, Pagero, EDICOM, Sovos etc.).
- Deep functional expertise of SAP FI/SD/MM modules including the setup of underlying SAP business processes (e.g. intercompany billing 3rd party drop-shipments, consignment etc) as well as their interplay with tax processes.
- End to end implementation experience with at least one tax engine / its SAP intergration (e.g. ONESOURCE, Vertz) or SAP / VAT add-ons (e.g. Meridian) or building chain transaction related tax design using native SAP.
- Understanding of the tax touchpoints with additional SAP integrated modules/add-ons (e.g. VIM/Readsoft, Ariba/Coupa or their competitors).
- Experience in scoping and pricing large scale engagements.
- Strong client-facing consulting skills: gathering requirements, managing expectations, and building relationships.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in matrix teams and manage diverse stakeholder groups.
Desirable:
- Understanding of the wider SAP ecosystem and how it can benefit Tax (e.g. BTP, PaPM, SAC).
- Hands-on experience with SAP's technical components, ability to read SAP ABAP code and work with ABAPers to build custom developments (e.g. BADI, BAPI, userexits, IDOC etc) and a good understanding of integration technologies (e.g. APIs).
- Strong data analysis skills (e.g. SQL, ETL tools, Alteryx / KNIME, ability to extract and analyse SAP tables / CDS views).

Tax
Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international M&A, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.
Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
