Associate Director
The Associate Director plays a senior leadership role within Benoy's Commercial Real Estate Strategy team, leading complex commercial real estate projects and inspiring teams to deliver high-quality, commercially impactful work for clients across the commercial real estate sector. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, they require minimal supervision and are trusted to exercise sound judgement in both project delivery and client engagement. Associate Directors are accountable for the successful delivery of large and complex projects, the development of strong client relationships, and the leadership and development of their teams. In addition to project delivery, they actively contribute to business growth, process improvement, and the continued evolution of Benoy’s Strategy proposition.
About You
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience leading complex, multi-workstream Strategy or insight-led projects
- Proven experience within commercial real estate, property or the built environment.
- Strong track record of client leadership and relationship management
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams
- Commercially astute, with experience managing project finances and contributing to business growth
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insight into clear recommendations
- Confident communicator, able to present and influence at senior client level

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Delivery
- Lead the delivery of medium and large-scale commercial real estate strategy projects, ensuring work is of a consistently high quality and aligned to client objectives
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining oversight of scope, programme, budget, and quality
- Act as the primary client contact on assigned projects, leading project meetings and presentations and building trusted client relationships
- Agree project objectives and oversee the allocation of workstreams and responsibilities across project teams
- Provide senior oversight and review of work delivered by junior team members, ensuring clarity of narrative, insight, and recommendation
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, with clear accountability for delivery milestones and commercial performance
Analytical Insight
- Take overall responsibility for the quality, relevance, and robustness of insight generated across projects
- Lead client problem-solving by framing key issues, developing hypotheses, and shaping clear, evidence-based recommendations
- Guide teams in the effective use of qualitative, quantitative, and other data sources to generate meaningful insight
- Ensure project outputs are structured into compelling narratives that address client needs and support decision-making
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams, creating an environment that encourages collaboration, learning, and accountability
- Support the development of junior colleagues through coaching, feedback, and stretching opportunities
- Hold regular one-to-one performance and career development conversations
- Address performance or development gaps constructively and in a timely manner
- Review employee engagement feedback with peers and Directors, contributing to actions that sustain or improve team experience
- Role model Benoy’s values and behaviours in all interactions

Client and Commercial Responsibility
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships that support repeat business and account growth
- Contribute to the preparation of fee proposals and commercial discussions for new and existing clients
- Maintain oversight of project financial performance, including forecasting, utilisation, and invoicing
- Support the effective management of project resources in collaboration with peers and Directors
Business Development
- Actively contribute to business development activity, including proposals, credentials, and thought leadership
- Support the identification and development of new opportunities across existing and emerging client relationships
- Play a visible role in promoting Strategy through professional networks, industry engagement, and digital platforms
- Contribute to the ongoing development of marketing and growth strategies for the Strategy offer
