The Role
Transmission & Distribution Engineer
Location: UNITED KINGDOM Work Model: Hybrid

Our HV (High Voltage) Design Team handles electric power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels (typically 132 kV to 400kV). Core projects include:
- Feasibility studies
- Optioneering
- FEED (Front End Engineering and Design)
- Detailed design
- Design assurance for existing or new substations

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leading:
- Lead client and internal multi-discipline technical discussions to:
- Establish scopes and define interfacing.
- Ensure timeline-based project delivery.
- Oversee HV substation and infrastructure projects—from feasibility to detailed design phases.

Requirements
Experienced HV Substation Engineer? We want bold contributors with:
🔹 Relevant Experience:
- Proven track record in consultancies, contractor roles, or utilities in energy supply.
- Client experience: National Grid or utilities like SHET, SSE, SPT, or developers in the UK/Ireland.
- Expertise at all project stages—concept, FEED (front-end design), and detailed design.
🔹 Technical Competence:
- Proficiency in AC HV Plant & Equipment for medium/high voltages; knowledge of GIS and AIS systems.
- Strategic use of National Grid Standards & Specifications.
- Familiarity with control systems, HV transformers, HVDC systems, and HVDC protection.
🔹 Bid Proposal Development:
- Experience leading multi-discipline proposals/bids to successful outcomes.
- Intimacy with substation lifecycle design (asset management perspective).
🔹 Advantageous Knowledge:
- CDAE (Chartered Designer Associate Engineer) or LCDAE qualifications are highly valued.
- Relevant expertise in grid connections, interconnected networks, and large infrastructure components.
