Associate Director / Technical Director - Economics & Socio-economics
London | Hybrid (2 days in the office)

A growing, independent environmental consultancy is looking to strengthen its Economics & Socio-economics team with someone who wants to help shape its future. Whether you're stepping into leadership or already operating at Technical Director level, you'll have genuine influence, the backing of an experienced leadership team and the opportunity to make the role your own.
The Opportunity
You'll become part of a growing Economics & Socio-economics team, working across a diverse range of planning and development projects.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Lead and deliver socio-economic assessments, Health Impact Assessments and wider economic advisory projects.
- Mentor and develop junior consultants.
- Work closely with Directors to shape the future direction of the team.
- Help expand the service offering into areas such as economic strategy, business cases and wider advisory work.
- Build long-term client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Associate Director or Technical Director?
The business is genuinely open to appointing at either level.
For an Associate Director, there isn't an expectation that you'll arrive with an established client following. Instead, they're looking for someone with strong technical capability, commercial awareness and the ambition to develop into a future leader.
For a Technical Director, there is genuine scope to shape the commercial direction of the team, influence strategy and play a significant role in its continued growth.

About You
You'll likely have:
- A background in economics, socio-economics or economic advisory.
- Consultancy experience within the planning, development or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong project delivery and client management skills.
- Experience mentoring colleagues or leading small teams.
- Commercial awareness and an appetite to contribute to the growth of the business.
