The Role

We are looking for an employment solicitor with between 1 and 5 years' PQE to join our Birmingham office at a time when the team is growing. This is a substantive fee-earning role with real responsibility from the outset.

If you are looking for a role where the work is interesting, the clients are engaged, and a team that is friendly and fun, then we could be the team for you.

The Candidate

Day-to-day the work is varied. You can expect to be involved in:

  • Advising high-profile clients on a range of strategic employment matters
  • Drafting employment contracts, policies, and disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Managing employment tribunal claims from initial instruction to resolution
  • Supporting complex transactional employment matters
  • Handling data subject access requests
  • Contributing to the team's profile through thought leadership articles, seminars, and client events
  • Developing deep sector knowledge and maintaining cutting-edge awareness of legal developments
  • Building long-term client relationships — we work with clients who return to us repeatedly, and we want Associates who understand the value of that
  • Maintaining excellence in file management in accordance with Lexcel and departmental standards
  • Actively engaging in comprehensive firm-wide and departmental training programmes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
