Associate Engineer - Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Specialist

About the Role

We’re seeking one or more highly talented Associates to strengthen our team across various locations in the UK. Ideal candidates should possess strong technical and leadership expertise, ensuring they play a central role in our multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Cardiff

  • Liverpool

  • Plymouth

We support agile working, allowing up to 1-2 days per week hybrid working if desired.

Key Details

  • Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible working options available)
  • Salary: Starting at £70,000 per annum
  • Sector: Delivering solutions across civil, structural, and geotechnical disciplines within the built environment
  • Sector Impact: Part of a £11bn+ project pipeline, specialising in major infrastructure and complex construction schemes

Technical & Practical Background Required

  • Strong understanding of civil, structural and geotechnical engineering principles (including applicable design standards)
  • Experience in temporary works design, management, or other construction disciplines

Leadership & Professional Credentials

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent level of proficiency preferred

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Oversee and inspire local teams (8-16 engineers) & support regional leadership (30+ staff & 100+ nationally)
  • Lead national team targets, ensuring continuous improvement while adapting to future industry challenges

Project Delivery & Technical Lead Responsibilities

  • Act as Project Lead for complex/high-value projects, ensuring scope, budget, timeframes and client relations align from bid through delivery
  • Specify, price, prepare and review deliverables (e.g. calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports, risk assessments), ensuring QA, [CDM], and safety compliance
