World Leader in Blood Glucose Monitoring

Abbott's Diabetes Care business designs, develops, and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the design and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes.

Opportunity for an Associate Engineer

As a result of strong business growth and industry-leading product development in the biosensor business, R&D has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join our R&D Engineering team focusing on Vision System development.

Role of the Associate Engineer (Vision Systems)

The role of the Associate Engineer (Vision Systems) is to provide support and assistance with Engineering and Systems projects, with a focus on Vision systems. Work could include the development of inspection systems, including vision programming, running trials on manufacturing equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and writing reports. The main focus will be around the development and implementation of Vision Systems with our bespoke equipment, and manufacturing and test processes.

Requirements

You will need to have completed a Degree level qualification in a relevant Engineering, Scientific, or Technology discipline, and ideally bring engineering/technical experience, for example understanding technical drawings, problem solving, use of CAD systems, designing tests and experiments. Over time, Abbott will support your development in Vision Systems expertise, and we would therefore welcome applications from people keen to develop this specialist skill set.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

GRADUATES BASED IN THE UK

If you are on a Graduate visa, we cannot guarantee you sponsorship from within the UK upon its expiry. If this limit is reached and other Home Office requirements cannot be met, it will prevent us from being able to sponsor and therefore employ you, unless you are able to secure your own right to work in the UK following the expiry of a Graduate visa.
