THE ROLE & TEAM

At Brabners, our Family team continues to grow from strength to strength, and we are looking to recruit a talented Associate (3–6 PQE) to join our highly regarded practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-quality matters within a collaborative and forward-thinking firm, recognised for its client-focused approach.

You will join an experienced and supportive Family team advising on a broad mix of private family law matters, including complex children work and high-value financial cases. The team is known for delivering pragmatic, commercially aware advice, often with an international dimension.

This role offers the opportunity to both assist on sophisticated matters and manage your own caseload, alongside gaining exposure to advocacy.

Agencies: We are not accepting CVs for this role as we are aiming to fill it directly. We value your support and will reach out if required. Please do not send speculative CVs. Any unsolicited CVs sent to hiring managers or the business, without prior instruction from a member of the Talent Acquisition team, will be treated as a gift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing your own caseload of family law matters, including:
    • Complex private children cases
    • Financial remedy work, including high-net-worth matters
  • Assisting senior lawyers on more complex or high-profile cases
  • Advising clients with professionalism, sensitivity, and empathy
  • Undertaking advocacy where appropriate
  • Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the team
  • Building strong and lasting client relationships

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
