Associate - Financial Restructuring - Investment Banking
Associate – Financial Restructuring
We are partnering with one of the world's leading investment banks to hire an Associate into its Financial Restructuring team in London. This is the number one global restructuring advisor, a position the firm has held for over a decade, and the largest dedicated restructuring practice of any investment bank. For a candidate with this background, this is one of the most sought-after seats in the market.
About the Firm
- The leading global restructuring franchise, ranked number one global investment banking restructuring advisor for over ten consecutive years.
- The largest and most experienced restructuring practice of any investment bank, having advised on over 1,900 restructuring transactions representing more than USD 4 trillion in aggregate debt claims since 1988.
- A genuinely global, independent advisory model with no lending balance sheet, enabling conflict-free advice and a steady pipeline of marquee debtor-side and creditor-side mandates.
- London sits at the centre of the firm’s EMEA restructuring activity, offering exposure to the most complex cross-border and large-cap situations in the region.
- A meritocratic, deal-intensive environment where Associates take real ownership, working directly with senior bankers and clients.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
