Our Authorised Funds Team is a market leader—ranked Tier 1 for retail funds in London by The Legal 500 and featured as a "leading UK funds practice". We are trusted advisors for all types of fund service providers, with a particular strength in open-ended funds. We’ve been centres of excellence in regulatory and tax interpretation, product innovation, and compliance for decades.
Team Focus Areas
We specialise in:
- UCITS and non-UCITS retail schemes (NURS), OEICs, authorised unit trusts
- Property Authorised Investment Funds (PAIFs)
- Authority Contractual Schemes (ACS) & Charity Authorised Investment Funds
- Launching Long-Term Asset Funds (LTAFs), SDR labels, and OFR recognition
- Fund structuring, tax, regulatory compliance, investment strategies, asset transfers
- Regulatory support for asset managers and depositary banks
You’ll be part of a proactive, technology-forward team, actively embedding AI and innovation into legal practice. In 2026, we’ve launched our "Year of AI" initiative, collaborating with Harvey (our GenAI legal assistant) and expanding tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot & Lexis Protégé to streamline legal research, drafting, and document analysis.

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented London-based lawyer (0–3 years post-qualification experience) to join our Authorised Funds practice. Your role will include:
- Advising clients (fund houses, asset managers, depositaries, wealth managers, and institutional investors)
- Under-taking or supporting an array of fund-related matters, from fund setup to investor-side representation
- Guiding clients on FCA regulatory compliance, contracts (e.g., investment management, depositary agreements, ACD & administration arrangements)
- Working on alternative investment funds, ensuring alignment with UK/EU regulatory frameworks
This role also involves:
- Daily client interaction with opportunities for ongoing relationships
- Collaborating on secondments within the firm or industry partners
- Integrating AI tools (e.g., Harvey, Copilot, Lexis) into daily work for centre-of-excellence legal outputs
Required Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates will have:
- 0–3 years PQE experience, with a preference for those with a background in financial services or EU/UK asset management
- Corporate/commercial lawyers transitioning into funds practice are also encouraged to apply
- Must demonstrate:
- Awareness of financial services regulation (particularly FCA frameworks for funds)
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused legal advice
- Commercial awareness—ability to integrate technical expertise with strategic insights
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple complex matters
- Ownership of workloads, strong initiative, and prioritisation skills
- Team player mindset, with a proactive approach to knowledge-sharing across teams
- Enthusiasm for evolving legal and regulatory landscapes
- Open-mindedness to AI/legal tech integration, with a reasoned approach to leveraging technology responsibly
- Interest in working with international clients
