Opportunity

Brunswick’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in London advises many of the world’s largest financial services companies on their most high-profile and business-critical situations. Our work spans transactions, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement, often in complex, fast-moving environments.

As an Associate, you will work closely with senior colleagues and clients, driving execution on accounts, delivering workstreams, and proactively developing ideas. You will nurture a wide internal network across offices and specialisms to share, develop, and deliver the best examples of work for internal and external use. You’ll also broaden your external network.

This role offers the chance to accelerate your career by combining hands-on delivery with real client exposure within a team known for high standards and strong development.


About The Role

  • Advise listed clients across a range of issues and communications disciplines, guided by Directors and Partners, leveraging independent experience and insights.
  • Support the execution of client work, including media materials, investor communications, and broader stakeholder content.
  • Work across complex sector issues, such as:
    • M&A
    • IPO
    • Shareholder activism
    • Crisis communications
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with media, the financial community, politicians, regulators, NGOs, and other stakeholders, building confidence and credibility.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to deliver integrated, cross-border mandates.
  • Play a key role in team management, including mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Contribute to new business development, including research, proposal development, and pitch meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in communications, consulting, or a related advisory role.
  • Experience working with financial institutions and an understanding of the sector landscape. Private markets experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Insight into the interplay between:
    • Corporates
    • The financial community
    • The regulatory arena
    • Social stakeholders
  • Knowledge of:
    • Disclosure obligations of listed companies
    • M&A and IPO processes and their workflows
  • A strong sense of corporate positioning and the ability to develop strategic programs with real, sustained impact.
  • Financial media landscape expertise, including experience in:
    • Media relations
    • Transactions
    • Capital markets communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, high-quality materials.
  • An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the capacity to synthesized complex information.
  • Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders and contributing meaningfully to client discussions.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach, paired with a willingness to learn and develop.
