Associate Fire Engineer

The Opportunity

You’re an Associate Fire Engineer who wants to lead—on projects, with clients, and within a growing team. At Stantec, you’ll join an expanding Fire Engineering capability within our Buildings business, working across a national platform from any of our UK offices. This is a role where you’ll combine technical depth with leadership, shaping how fire engineering is delivered across a multidisciplinary environment and contributing to the continued growth of the service.

About the Role

You will lead the delivery of fire engineering strategies across a diverse portfolio of projects, from concept through to construction and handover. This includes:

  • Both performance-based and code-compliant design, ensuring solutions are practical, coordinated, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Acting as a technical authority—guiding design teams, overseeing modelling inputs, and ensuring quality across outputs.
  • Collaborating with internal specialists and other disciplines, integrating fire engineering into wider project delivery.

Beyond technical leadership:

  • Ownership of client relationships—leading meetings, advising on strategy, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Contributing to business development by supporting bids and identifying opportunities to expand the service offering.
  • Mentoring engineers, shaping technical standards, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Your Impact

You’ll influence how complex buildings are designed and delivered, helping clients navigate fire safety requirements on projects that are both technically robust and practical.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
