### Employment Lawyer – Global (EMEA & Asia) – Jefferies

The firm specialises in trade execution across equities, high yield, convertibles, and international securities for institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals.
Position Overview
Jefferies is seeking an experienced employment lawyer with a proven track record in:
- In-house roles: Particularly within fast-paced financial services (especially investment banking), or;
- Private practice: At a leading law firm with a strong focus on advising financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
(Core Focus: EMEA & Asia Jurisdictions)
The successful candidate will:
- Lead employment, HR, and regulatory matters across EMEA & Asia, collaborating with external counsel when needed.
- Provide senior management support to Regional & Global Heads of Corporate & Business Lines with confidence and initiative.
Specialisations:
- Day-to-day emergency and preventative employment matters, including:
- Remuneration & benefits structuring (e.g., pay, bonuses, perks).
- Business protection (e.g., restrictive covenants, probity checks).
- Performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and dispute resolution.
- Document drafting & negotiation:
- Employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Advice on hires/exits and litigating employment claims.
- Knowledge-sharing:
- Develop and disseminate expertise on employment law changes.
- Training control functions and managers in employment law & HR best practices.

Requirements & Preferences
Essential:
- Brainraverial law experience: 8+ years, with proven legal & HR expertise in employment law landscapes of EMEA & Asia.
- Commercial acumen:
- Distil legal complexities into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Support managers immediately and present at board committee level.
- Cross-border knowledge:
- EMEA(rule regulatory) and Asia-specific employment practices.
- Perform dual under pressure: Prioritise and manage a varied global initiatives.
- Collaboration mindset: Partner with control functions, regulatory teams, and business units.
Highly Desirable:
- Hands-on experience for a regulated financial organisation in AO.
- Leading-edge issues: IP rights, trade restrictions, and settlements.
- Reputation for leadership & efficiency in complex environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding in regulated financial services environments.
- Law degree (or equivalent) with membership of a professional regulatory body (e.g., American Bar Association, ACIDE, or equivalent).
- Licensed to practice law in one or more jurisdictions relevant to their role (UK, EU/EEA, China, Singapore, or other APJ markets).
- Fast-paced banking or securities firm exposure.
