Job Description Summary: Ares Secondaries Group is one of the most experienced investors in the secondary private market in the alternative asset management industry. The Group provides bespoke and customized liquidity solutions across the private equity, credit, real estate, and infrastructure asset classes. With over 30 years of experience in the market, Ares Secondaries Group focuses on generating attractive risk adjusted returns through its leading industry analytics and research, robust deal origination, underwriting and portfolio management activities. The Infrastructure Secondaries Team at Ares has experienced significant growth over the last few years, raising over $5 billion in its most recent fundraise. The team is now looking to expand to support future growth. The established strategy is a natural extension of Ares’ leading Infrastructure and Secondaries platforms, which respectively have approximately $7 billion and $38 billion in assets under management. We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Infrastructure Secondaries team as an Associate in our London office. Key Responsibilities: The firm is currently looking to hire an Associate to join our Infrastructure Secondaries team in our London office to: Evaluate new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, researching industries and comparable companies, interviewing fund sponsors, and preparing financial models as part of an underwriting team Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on infrastructure limited partnership interests and their underlying company investments Develop a network of contacts in the infrastructure industry through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and fund sponsor annual meetings Prepare presentations to investors, firm partner group and counterparties Support deal team in transaction management, including negotiations with sellers and execution of closings Education/Experience Required: 2-4 years’ experience in investment banking (Infra, Power & Utilities preferred but not required), Infrastructure, or secondaries principal investing, Infrastructure valuation or restructuring advisory services Strong analytical capabilities, financial analysis, writing and presentation skills Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leadership skills, and a strong record of academic achievement Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and in a dynamic team environment Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a professional, polished demeanour Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to handle and thrive with increased independence Displays comfort in dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty in dynamic and fast paced environment Demonstrated ability to research and leverage available resources to accomplish the task at hand Possesses good judgement and understanding when to solve issues independently vs. when to escalate to a senior team member Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field helpful but not required Second European language will be considered positively Reporting Relationships Partner, Head of Infrastructure Secondaries There is no set deadline to apply for this job opportunity.
