Associate Lecturer in Organizational Behaviour – Birkbeck, University of London
We are seeking an Associate Lecturer to join the teaching team at Birkbeck Business School for the Autumn Term 2026.
About the Role
Business Unit: Birkbeck Business School Contract Type: Fixed-term Salary Rate: £69.68 per hour (inclusive of London Allowance and holiday pay) Working Hours: 3 hours per week (9 weeks) Schedule: Thursdays (3.30–5.00 PM and 6.00–7.30 PM), in-person only Term: Session starts week commencing 5 October 2026 Grades: Grade 7
This opportunity involves teaching the module "Organizational Behaviour" with a focus on academic guidance, presentations, and student support.
Essential Requirements
You must meet the following criteria:
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in business and management/psychology-related subjects, or relevant professional/industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to teach seminar-style sessions including:
- Small group activities
- Group and individual assessment preparation
- Class discussions and presentations
- Experience in assessing student work, specifically:
- Group presentations (required for this module)
- Written coursework

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant academic/industry qualifications equivalent to teaching/developing modules at undergraduate level.
- Strong background in evaluating student performance (marking, descriptions of progress, etc.).
- Commitment to collaborative teaching environments and supporting diverse student needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality small-group teaching sessions aligned with syllabus requirements.
- Facilitate discussions, debates, and presentations while guiding academic progression.
- Assess student work (e.g., presentations and written assignments).
- Contribute to administrative duties, ensuring comprehensive assessment documentation.

Benefits & Payment Structure
- Hourly rate includes pro-rata:
- London Allowance
- Holiday pay (part-time expectation)
- Multiplier applied for collapsed load 2.5x (covering prep, administration, and assessment).
