About the Role
The Community Team focuses on player engagement, content creation, and feedback collection across all channels. As Associate Manager, Community Team, you’ll oversee a team of Community Managers for a portfolio of Ubisoft games, driving operational efficiency, team growth, and player experience excellence.
This role blends management, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure dynamic, high-performing gameplay communities.
Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Lead to streamline everyday Community Team operations for a game portfolio.
- Provide strategic guidance on process and performance improvements, fostering operational excellence.
- Lead a team of Community Managers, including:
- Day-to-day supervision
- Analysis of work output and results
- Direct performance management
- Coach and develop team members by identifying strengths, delivering constructive feedback, and creating individualized improvement and training plans.
- Driven innovation with a solutions-focused approach, empowering the team to grow autonomy and capability.
- Establish and refine best practices to enhance player support, such as:
- Content production standards
- Quality assurance processes
- Team KPIs
- Align the portfolio’s Social Media Manager initiatives with leadership directives and global best practices to define team standards and skill development.
- Optimise team resources, workload, and staffing to meet business objectives.
- Review annual employee feedback surveys and partner with the Portfolio Lead to address and mitigate key team challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with partner teams, including:
- Community & Social Media
- Player Support
- Frontline Operations
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture, where team members are excited to connect with Ubisoft players and tell the stories of our games.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee Community Managers within the Community Department.
- Lead strategic direction, coordination, and evaluation of team activities.
- Responsibilities include:

Requirements
Experience
- Proven leadership in managing and supervising teams, including:
- Hiring
- Performance appraisals
- Coaching
- Disciplinary action
- Background in community management or social media, demonstrating the ability to:
- Define best practices
- Set quality standards
- Develop player-driven KPIs
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Social, Support) to enforce workflows and translate leadership directives.
- Strong track record in resource management, workload balancing, and driving operational efficiency.
- Intermediate-level experience in community-focused roles.
- Bonus points for leading distributed or diverse teams.
- Familiarity with:
- Social media platforms (Twitter, TikTok, etc.)
- Live-streaming & YouTube
Skills &Knowledge
- Strong communication and teamwork principles.
- Passion for gaming and player engagement alignment.
- Analytical mindset with focus on process improvement.
- Recognised expertise in team mentorship and leadership.
Preferred (Non-Essential)
- Prior experience in video game industry preferred.
