Head of Medical Education, Field-Based (UK & Ireland)

Location: This is a field-based role covering the UK & Ireland

Key Responsibilities

Join a high-impact Marketing team where your role will influence how healthcare professionals engage with and adopt medical technologies. You’ll shape clinical education strategies, collaborate with clinical leaders, and deliver training programs that enhance patient care and drive business growth.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan, execute, and improve surgeon and sales training programs, aligned with business priorities.
  • Identify educational gaps and design targeted training solutions for customer and commercial needs.
  • Track and report on training activity, including surgeon engagement and program utilisation metrics.
  • Build and manage a network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), handling contracts, governance, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Activate KOLs across education programs, congresses, workshops, and product launches.
  • Plan and deliver congresses, clinical labs, workshops, and customer events, managing logistics and on-site execution.
  • Ensure high-quality customer experiences by managing out-of-theatre presence and associated event logistics.
  • Budget management for high-impact education initiatives to maximise ROI.
  • Develop, maintain, and update training materials and clinical educational content (internal/external).
  • Support sales teams in the field through joint customer engagement and education activities.
  • Deliver product presentations and clinical training to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Oversee emphasis/kit fleet and demonstration equipment for training, events, and sales.
  • Logistically and educationally support clinical trials, product evaluations, and evidence-generation activities.
  • Lead launch events, sales training, and congress promotion initiatives.
  • Track and analyse education program performance, using insights to optimise future strategies.
  • Drive customer activation through events and KOL engagement to maximise education impact and adoption.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Must-Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in medical devices, healthcare, or medical education.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in:
    • Medical/clinical sciences
    • Business/MBA
    • Related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven ability to manage customer-facing education/training programs.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Experience working with healthcare professionals and clinical faculty.
  • Experience supporting product launches via education initiatives.
  • Experience managing external vendors/third-party education partners.
  • Experience in budget management or interpreting business/analytical data.

Additional Details

  • Regular travel required to support on-site education and stakeholder engagement.
  • Valid UK driver’s license (or Ireland where applicable) mandatory.
