HKA

HKA is a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness and litigation support. We anticipate, investigate and resolve complex challenges by harnessing world-leading multi-disciplinary expertise and experience.

As trusted independent consultants, experts and advisors, we deliver solutions amid uncertainty, dispute and overrun, and provide the insights that make the best possible outcomes a reality for public and private sector clients worldwide. Our experts have testified across the globe on many of the largest quantum, delay, engineering and commercial damages matters.

As part of the HKA team you can expect:

  • A strong collaborative culture focused on growing the Forensic Technical Services (FTS) practice and our team together.
  • The opportunity to be part of driving the future success and development of our International FTS business.
  • The ability to work with leaders who support your career development, providing mentoring and exposure to complex projects, and supporting your ambitions.

The Opportunity

HKA is seeking to recruit an ambitious and experienced Associate Technical Director or Technical Director to join the already well-established team as part of the development of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for you if you are interested in moving into a forensic dispute consultancy or if you already have experience and have an appetite for excelling your career with a world renowned disputes consultancy practice, alternatively if you are currently an experienced Senior Engineer or Associate in a design consultancy looking for that next step to challenge you intellectually.

The FTS team has grown in both size and workload and this presents exciting opportunities for the successful candidate working on projects both in the UK and Internationally based from our London office.

Whilst the ideal candidate will have a keen interest in breaking into Expert Witness work or have already had experience assisting an Expert, we provide full training and support for the specific aspects of forensic work that an engineer from design consultancy may not have been exposed to. A willingness to learn and adapt will be rewarded with intellectual challenge, fascinating insights into disputes, and a hugely varied and interesting workload.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
