Associate - 3-5PQE Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team handling varied and high-quality work. We are seeking a highly motivated, professional candidate with excellent academics and sound experience in clinical negligence who can demonstrate commercial awareness and a history of maintaining good client relationships.

The ideal candidate will be confident and enthusiastic and will be able to demonstrate experience of a wide range of Claimant injury litigation work. They will be able to demonstrate an energetic commitment to contributing to the success of the team.

What You’re Like

  • Educated to degree level and preferably with a 2:1 or above
  • A solicitor of 3+ years PQE
  • Highly motivated and professional
  • Quick thinking and a fast learner
  • Broad experience in Claimant litigation work
  • Experience of running a caseload of your own
  • Work and think independently
  • Ability to look after existing clients and win new work
  • Want to develop your career
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness
  • Technically excellent
  • Keen attention to detail

What We’re Like

  • The team is based in our Putney office comprising of 4 partners, 2 consultants, 3 senior associates, 5 associates, 5 legal assistants, an executive assistant, and an administrative assistant.

Core Legal Duties

  • Provide a high quality legal service to all Russell-Cooke clients
  • Provide a high quality experience to our clients in terms of service delivery
  • Develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of your colleagues
  • Establish what needs to be done to solve a client’s problems
  • Offer advice on the law, legal procedures, and a wide range of associated issues
  • Attend and represent Russell-Cooke at client meetings and conferences
  • Represent clients in Courts where required

Professional Standards

  • Work and behave in a professional manner and to the highest standards of the profession
  • Comply with procedures set out in Russell-Cooke’s Office Manual, professional standards, and any requirement set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
  • Carry out duties given by the partners or employees faithfully and diligently and follow all reasonable instructions
  • Participate in the growth and development of the department / firm
  • Treat all information about the firm and its client and their business as wholly confidential
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in the law
  • Record all chargeable hours
