The Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service (SHYPS) is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Practitioner to work in our busy, friendly Cellular Pathology Laboratory based at Hull Royal Infirmary under York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the Role
Based in Hull, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of scientific procedures and result interpretation on biological samples that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases and the investigation of other pathological processes. We are looking for an individual with a good knowledge of Cellular Pathology.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in a consultant led team being responsible for performing a wide range of scientific procedures and result interpretation on biological samples.
- Handle telephone queries from other healthcare professionals, reception and clerical duties.
- Be a member of a team of laboratory staff that deliver a medical laboratory service.
- Use individual judgment to make decisions that will have an impact on the end product.
- Support and advise less experienced staff such as trainees, students as well as Medical Laboratory Assistants.
