An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Point of Care Testing (POCT) team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a full-time Associate Practitioner.
Role Overview
The POCT service supports safe and effective patient care by providing near-patient diagnostic testing across the Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the service, including:
- Maintaining POCT equipment
- Supporting device connectivity
- Managing stock
- Assisting with user training administration
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and development of a high-quality service
- Contribute to compliance with national POCT guidelines and UKAS ISO accreditation standards
- Gain experience in Point of Care Testing and Biomedical Science
- Opportunities for further training and career development within the service
Key Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Good IT literacy
- Background or interest in computing, digital technology, laboratory sciences, or medical devices

Working Conditions
- Full-time position
- Working closely with the POCT Manager
Visa Sponsorship
This role is not available for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, we are unable to support visa applications for this post in line with UKVI regulations.
