Company Description

Here at Gousto, we are on a mission to become the UK's most loved way to eat dinner, and for every meal to leave the planet better off. Gousto is changing how people shop, cook and eat food at home. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join our team - and we’re a friendly bunch!

We’re proud to be one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK. Powered by data and a love of food, we’re a recipe box company that’s disrupting the sector, and we’re passionate about our diverse team and our customers.

All of our people are responsible for the success of Gousto, and we’re passionate about creating an inclusive environment for all to thrive. Job Description

Location: London, Hybrid - one day a week in the office

Contract Type: Fixed Term - 12 Months (Early August start)

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an Associate Product Manager to join our Platform Foundations tribe, working with the Data Platform Engineering team. This tight-knit team is responsible for the data lake and core infrastructure that underpin Gousto’s analytics, data science, and data access capabilities, making it a critical part of how teams across the business understand performance, make decisions, and build better experiences for our customers.

This is a brilliant opportunity to help shape product management within a team that has operated without dedicated PM support until recently. Supported closely by your Group Product Manager, you’ll help introduce more structured product practices, from backlog management and prioritisation frameworks to discovery rhythms and clearer product direction. You’ll represent the needs of DPE’s internal users, including Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and commercial and data leaders, translating their challenges into clear, prioritised work for the team.

The role comes at an exciting time for Gousto’s data platform. As AI agents and self-serve tooling make data analysis accessible to a much wider range of teams, DPE is evolving from a platform designed primarily for expert users into one that can support a broader, faster-moving audience. Working closely with a Senior Engineering Manager who has championed dedicated product management for the team, you’ll help strengthen how DPE plans, prioritises, and delivers, leaving the team in an even better position for the future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a clear, structured product backlog for the Data Platform Engineering team, introducing prioritisation approaches that bring transparency and rigour to how work is shaped and sequenced
  • Develop a strong understanding of DPE’s internal users by regularly engaging with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and other stakeholders across Gousto
  • Turn qualitative feedback, quantitative signals, and business context into clear product direction, helping the team focus on the most valuable problems to solve
  • Partner closely with the Senior Engineering Manager to translate user needs into product requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that support high-quality engineering delivery
  • Contribute to the development of a product roadmap for DPE, balancing user needs, technical constraints, platform strategy, and wider data priorities
  • Support planning discussions by helping to clarify trade-offs, surface dependencies, and bring structure to prioritisation decisions, with guidance from your manager
  • Create and maintain regular communication rhythms with DPE’s key stakeholders, providing clear visibility of what the team is working on, why it matters, and what is coming next
  • Support DPE’s response to the growth of AI-driven and self-serve data consumption, helping the team understand its changing user base, explore new use cases, and shape how the platform needs to adapt
  • Define and track key product metrics with support from the data team, helping DPE measure the value of what it ships and build a stronger habit of evidence-led iteration
  • Maintain clear, actionable acceptance criteria for delivery, helping the team reduce ambiguity and deliver work that is well-scoped, well-understood, and valuable to users

Who You Are

  • You have some exposure to product management concepts or adjacent ways of working, whether through a previous Product role, working closely with Product teams, or experience in areas such as engineering, data analysis, operations, consulting, or structured learning
  • You’re curious about how technical systems work and motivated to build your data literacy on the job. You do not need to have built data pipelines or written SQL, but you should be excited to develop a working understanding of the platform and how it supports Gousto’s teams
  • You’re a structured and analytical thinker, able to break complex or ambiguous problems into smaller parts, make sense of information, and communicate your findings clearly to different audiences
  • You’re developing strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and adapt how you communicate with engineers, analysts, commercial leaders, and other internal users
  • You’re organised and self-directed, able to manage your own workload with guidance, proactively flag blockers, and keep work moving in an environment that is still building its own playbook
  • You bring a genuine growth mindset and intellectual curiosity, with the confidence to ask thoughtful questions, learn quickly, and find your footing in situations that are not fully defined
  • You have an appetite for building structure and process, and you’re energised by the opportunity to help establish product management practices in a team that has not had dedicated PM support before
  • You enjoy working collaboratively, bridging technical and non-technical perspectives, and helping diverse teams find shared solutions to meaningful problems
