Deep Sector Product Manager – FactSet

Our Deep Sector Product Managers shape the future of FactSet’s Deep Sector content. You’ll partner with developers, analysts, and sector leaders across nine core industries—Banks, Insurance, Real Estate, Power & Utilities, Telecommunications, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Specialty Finance, and Healthcare—to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of investors.
You’ll bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, leading projects from concept to delivery, ensuring FactSet remains a trusted leader in financial data research and competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Backlog Leadership
- Plan and prioritise software development projects using Agile, Kanban, and Scrum methodologies.
- Utilise JIRA to configure EPICs, storyboards, and testing environments, breaking down initiatives into actionable tasks.
- Balance KTLO (Keep the Lights On) and BAU (Business As Usual) tickets, classifying and reprioritising based on urgency.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Define clear project goals, deliverables, and boundaries in collaboration with content stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Create Jira story cards that capture test criteria, development expectations, and success metrics.
Progress & Resource Management
- Proactively track performance, timelines, and dependencies to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Lead Agile sprint planning sessions, assigning tasks and allocating resources for maximum productivity.
- Motivate diverse teams and maintain focus on delivery, balancing prioritisation and efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration
- Model servant leadership, fostering a culture of open communication, trust, and empowerment.
- Translate complex requirements into execution plans and status updates, ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing software development projects, ideally in an Agile environment using JIRA or similar tools.
- Direct exposure to FIG (Financial Institutions Groups), Banking Standards & Regulation, Specialty Finance, Sell-Side Research, or Capital Keystone is a plus, though not mandatory.
Technical & Process Knowledge
- Deep understanding of Agile, Kanban, and Scrum methodologies within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to break down large initiatives into scope, deliverables, and actionable tasks.
- Experience prioritising complex workflows, monitoring progress, and resolving bottlenecks.
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication to convey project status, risks, and opportunities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, balancing technical and business needs.
- High-level organisation, adaptability, and self-motivation in a fast-paced environment.
