The Role
As an Associate Project Manager in our UK Defence function you will be part of the Maritime & Land team where you will support the Project Managers on the full lifecycle of the customer projects.
Day to day, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects while developing your Project management skills. This role works closely with Project Managers, stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure project activities are completed on time, within scope, and according to agreed standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
- Delivery of the project outputs, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales)
- Resolving conflicts (including prioritisation calls) within the project and collaborating across QinetiQ
- Maintenance of forecasts (both financial and resource demand signal) for sales and delivery which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the work
- Application of governance requirements (including lifecycle, project & independent reviews as appropriate) for foundation sales and delivery work

Essential Experience
- Foundational experience in a Project Management environment. Typically, 1-2 years’ experience
- Previous experience in either Maritime projects or working on an Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) programme.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree educated
- Working towards early PM qualifications

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Bristol, PTP or Farnborough sites with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

At our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state-of-the-art facility, with high-energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation. Join our talented teams of Engineers, IT & Cyber Specialists, Project Managers, Group Functions Teams and many more to provide future defences in the UK.
PTP
Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
