Associate Project Manager – Maritime & Land Team

Join us as an Associate Project Manager at one of our Bristol, Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP), or Farnborough sites, where you’ll work with pioneering technology alongside some of the brilliant minds in the industry.
About the Role
As an Associate Project Manager within our UK Defence function (Maritime & Land team), you’ll support our Project Managers throughout the full lifecycle of customer projects. Your day-to-day work will focus on planning, coordination, and delivery, while developing your Project Management skills.
This role involves collaborating closely with:
- Project Managers
- Stakeholders
- Delivery teams
Ensuring project activities are executed on time, within scope, and to agreed standards is a key responsibility.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building and maintaining positive engagement with project customers, partners, and suppliers
- Delivering project outputs aligned with the predefined baseline (ensuring customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash, and sales goals are met)
- Resolving conflicts, including making prioritisation calls, both within the project and across QinetiQ
- Maintaining forecasts (both financial and resource demand) for sales and delivery, reflecting current expectations
- Applying governance requirements, including lifecycle reviews, project reviews, and independent reviews where applicable, for foundational sales and delivery work

Requirements
Essential Experience
- Foundational experience in a Project Management environment, typically [1–2 years’ experience]
- Previous experience in:
- Maritime projects
- Working on an Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) programme
Essential Qualifications
- Degree educated
- Working towards early Project Management qualifications

This role is a 37-hour per week position with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week, based at:
