Lead Quality, Governance & Compliance Excellence Across Critical Technical Services
Shape the Future of Operational Excellence
Are you an experienced quality and governance leader looking for the opportunity to influence strategy, drive transformational change and make a lasting impact within a highly regulated technical environment? This is a pivotal leadership role where you will champion quality excellence, strengthen governance frameworks and lead continuous improvement across asbestos, health safety fire and water hygiene (Legionella) services.
Working alongside senior leadership, technical specialists and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring that quality systems, accreditation standards and governance arrangements not only remain compliant but actively support business growth, innovation and operational excellence.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
As the team’s senior authority for quality, governance and compliance, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple technical service lines, ensuring that management systems, operational processes and governance frameworks remain effective, scalable and aligned to business objectives.
You will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and compliance activities across UKAS-accredited asbestos and legionella consultancy operations, while supporting governance and quality standards within health safety fire services. Leading the development and continual improvement of integrated management systems, you will ensure ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and relevant regulatory requirements.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engagement, working closely with Directors, operational managers, technical experts, auditors, assessors and regulatory bodies. You will act as the principal quality advisor to the leadership team, influencing decision-making and helping to build efficient, compliant and future-ready operational frameworks that support long-term business success.
Your Impact in this Position
From the offset, you will establish yourself as the team’s leading authority on quality, governance and accreditation, gaining a deep understanding of operational delivery while identifying opportunities to strengthen quality assurance processes and management systems.
As your influence grows, you will lead major transformation and continuous improvement projects that modernise operational practices, enhance efficiency and embed robust governance standards across the business. Your work will help streamline processes, reduce administrative burden and foster a culture where quality and continual improvement are at the heart of everything the organisation does.
Over time, you will become a trusted strategic adviser to senior leadership, driving significant organisational change, strengthening compliance assurance and helping shape the future direction of operational excellence. Your contribution will directly support business growth, customer confidence and industry-leading technical standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
