Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Rates Trading business within the Global Fixed Income business in London, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
This role falls into scope under the Certification Regime and requires the individual to be internally ‘Certified’ as a significant harm function.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Provides market making capabilities in Fixed Income products to our sales staff and customer base through a variety of different channels, including voice and electronic streams, ensuring a diligent customer focus within the risk appetite of the business and the bank.
- Primary focus on the inflation book and EUR vol trading.
- Understanding of pre-established market risk limits and desk position limits to ensure all risks are understood and within the appetite of the GFI business and specific desk.
- Provides appropriate market color and information internally to the broader sales team, in addition to having a proper understanding of market functioning, liquidity and specific dynamics of Fixed Income markets globally.
- Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

Dimensions
- Market making responsibility for Fixed Income products, responsible for London market making, with crossover to the North America and Asia Pacific.
- Annual budget to attain based on market making and trading activities.
- Understanding and knowledge of all relevant Fixed Income systems.
- Provides market color and assists with client requests in line with our internal policies.
- Awareness of relevant regulatory items and upcoming changes in these items (EMIR, FCA etc.).
- Collaboration across the FICC business.
Education / Experience

- FCA Certified Person.
- Understanding of Fixed Income market functioning and liquidity.
- Extensive product knowledge in Fixed Income.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of the Global Code and policies specific to markets where we trade Fixed Income.
