Job Description

Associate Relationship Director – Structured Lending Portfolio

The Associate Relationship Director ensures financial analysis of existing and future financial performance, including:

  • Reviewing statutory and management accounting information
  • Conducting financial modelling, spreading, and forecast analysis
  • Overseeing covenant compliance monitoring and quarterly borrowing reviews

As part of the Relationship Management team, responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with customers through meetings and resolving queries
  • Managing clients via CRM systems/platforms
  • Supporting Relationship Directors in writing lending reports
  • Conducting credit risk analysis and risk management

Working in collaboration with the Relationship Director, you will:

  • Oversee and grow the loan book in assigned portfolios
  • Build trusted, collaborative client relationships
  • Identify future funding opportunities
  • Ensure exceptional customer service

In partnership with Credit Partners, Business Development Managers, and Regional Head of Credit, you will:

  • Strengthen internal relationships for portfolio management
  • Work across sector portfolios

Key Responsibilities

  • Post drawdown procedures: Ensure smooth transition from Business Development & Transaction Management teams
  • Interaction with borrowers & Transaction Management: Collect financial data/information for loan portfolio monitoring
  • Monitoring financial data: Ensure timely submission of management and financial information from borrowers
  • Financial review & covenant compliance:
    • Verify reported financials
    • Calculate financial covenants
    • Perform quality assurance checks
    • Compare actuals vs budgets/forecasts
    • Analyse variances and their impact on liquidity/debt serviceability
    • Escalate material variances to Relationship Managers & Head of Relationship Management
  • Reporting to credit & legal teams:
    • Prepare reports on covenant breaches
    • Develop proposals for waivers or consents where required
  • Review customer projections throughout loan lifecycle
  • Maintain loan status records to demonstrate ongoing compliance across the Loan Portfolio
  • Collaborate with:
    • Business Development teams
    • Transactional teams
    • Legal teams

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Strong financial analysis skills:
    • Ability to navigate, analyse, and interpret P&L, Balance Sheets (BS), and Cash Flows
    • Understanding of loan documentation and covenant terminology
    • Proficient in financial modelling and sensitivity analysis
  • Accounting platform experience:
    • Familiarity with platforms like Sage, Xero etc.
  • Industry experience:
    • Debt/asset finance experience
    • Financial services background
  • Essential soft skills:
    • Strong written & verbal communication
    • Robust, organised, calm, logical, and confident
  • Networking:
    • Well-connected professionals sought
