About the Role
We’re seeking an Associate Relationship Manager to provide support for a growth portfolio within our Mid-Market segment (T/O £50m - £500m). Working alongside a Relationship Director across the Bristol/South East England area, you’ll help deliver excellent service and tailored solutions to meet our clients’ goals.
The successful candidate will support providing Term Loans, RCFs, and other banking solutions to a range of businesses. You will be supporting an RD who is experienced in bringing on new-to-bank relationships, working with key-business-introducers and advisors to make this happen.
This is a growth role for our Mid-Market team, and that focus on new business origination is key for the person we are looking for.
Mid Markets is a Relationship Management business within Business and Commercial Banking. We're responsible for the overall management of client relationships whose turnover is between £50m - £500m. It's an exciting and wide-ranging segment spanning a variety of sectors and central to our purpose of Helping Britain Prosper.
You’ll play a key role in building long-term, multi-product relationships— leading on the new business strategy, ensuring funds are with clients quickly, handling risk, and deepening client engagement.
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about putting customers first.
What you'll be doing
- Client Engagement: Attend client meetings (virtually or in person), prepare agendas and briefing notes, follow up actions and communicate updates on sector insights, products, clients’ facilities, meetings and events.
- Portfolio Management & Growth: Support the lending journey, help identify high-value clients and spot opportunities to deliver product solutions.
- Risk & Compliance: Use your understanding of financial accounts to support credit proposals, monitor and manage risk and contribute to financial analysis.
- Credit & Onboarding: Assist with credit reviews, facility changes and onboarding, including preparing proposals and tender submissions.
- Organisation & Efficiency: Manage your diary and inbox, prioritise tasks and contribute to process improvements that benefit clients and colleagues.
- Collaboration & Insight: Work with internal teams and product partners to deliver tailored solutions and stay informed on sector developments.

What you'll need
We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, organised, and passionate about delivering great client outcomes. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role within financial services
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confidence in building and maintaining relationships
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
- Awareness of risk and how to manage it effectively
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience in Business & Commercial Banking
- Proficient in using systems such as CRW, PEGA and Co-Pilot
