Associate, Risk Dashboard Developer
Job Opportunity: .NET Developer – Global Derivatives & FICC Technology, CIBC

CIBC’s Global Derivatives & FICC Technology team delivers technology solutions for derivatives, fixed income, and currency trading businesses. This role focuses on CIBC’s intraday risk reporting platform (Iris), where a .NET developer will:
- Build new features
- Conduct technical analyses of grid-based applications
- Troubleshoot, post-mortem, and remediate production issues
Key Accountabilities
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as a .NET developer on the Iris team
- Collaborate with the dev team to deliver features & bug fixes
- Partner with other development teams (internal clients of Iris) for workload efficiency
- Develop a deep understanding of the application and its diverse user contexts
- Ensure high code quality across the entire application stack
- Maintain documentation for knowledge transfer and maintainability
- Engage in stakeholder meetings to refine requirements
- Adopt modern development practices
- Monitor performance metrics and propose improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- The QA team for testing and release management
- Application Support for 2nd line production incident resolution
- Peer dev teams (XTrader, Risk Technology, CMDA) to handle system integration
- End users to clarify data usage requirements
- Technology leadership to align with strategic objectives
Compliance & Authorities
- Must comply with all CIBC Line of Business policies, standards, and controls
- Has the authority to recommend process improvements for operational efficiency
Job Dimensions
Requires expertise in:
- Resolving complex technical issues via analysis
- Devising secure, compliant solutions aligned with best practices
- Applying design patterns to new environments or custom applications
- Assessing project risk via timelines and capability changes
- Managing rare, first-time issues not covered by standard processes
- Adapting to frequent changes in client requests
- Delivering time-critical solutions with shared resources
Requirements & Skills
Technical Proficiencies
- Strong C# and .NET development experience
- Multi-threading & asynchronous programming insight
- Basic SQL querying (e.g., T-SQL) and database design (SQL Server)
- Scripting (PowerShell)
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
- Familiarity with cloud services (Azure/AWS desirable)
- Experience with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with JavaScript/Angular, AWS/Azure Batch (advantageous)
