Associate Sales Engineer – Southwest Water
As our new Associate Sales Engineer – Southwest Water, you will apply your technical and commercial expertise to maintain and grow our customer base across the Southwest Water region. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver the right pump solutions for critical water infrastructure. What You Will Be Doing
As a key member of the Water Utility Sales team, you will strengthen long-term customer partnerships and contribute to strategic plans that ensure reliable water solutions reach communities across the Southwest.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Area Sales Manager to maximize sales and execute strategic business plans that support medium- and long-term growth
- Negotiating B2B orders directly with Water Companies’ operations and maintenance teams (OPEX), identifying competitor equipment suitable for replacement
- Conducting site visits to diagnose issues, performing surveys with Energy teams, and collaborating with customers to develop tailored pump solutions
- Driving new product development by implementing trials and securing operational-level acceptance within customer organizations
- Managing all local CRM activities, maintaining pricing support mechanisms, and monitoring product sales and KPIs to ensure budget delivery
- Providing product knowledge, application guidance, and troubleshooting support while maintaining strong relationships across all stakeholder levels

What Makes You a Great Fit
You are a technically minded sales professional with strong knowledge of water utility operations and the ability to translate engineering insights into commercial outcomes. You build trust easily, communicate confidently, and thrive in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
We imagine you bring:
- Experience in the Water Utility industry in a sales or technical role, with 0–3 years of sales experience in water process products
- Technical knowledge of pumping, wastewater, and associated equipment used in the water industry
- Recognized qualifications in Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with excellent communication and negotiation skills

It is a plus if you also have:
- Experience with CRM systems and structured opportunity management
- Knowledge of aftermarket sales, spare parts, service offerings, and competitor pump retrofit solutions
- Familiarity with motor basics, pump system design, and controls/automation equipment used in the UK water industry
