Associate / Senior Associate – Business Development, StepStone Real Estate (SRE)

Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate / Senior Associate to join SRE’s Business Development team.
The role will focus on supporting the firm’s real estate business development efforts, including:
- Fundraising initiatives
- Co-investments and secondaries activities
- Client engagement (both existing and prospective)
- Content creation and marketing support
Key Responsibilities
Content & Database Management
- Research and compile materials for:
- Marketing presentations
- Due diligence documents (e.g., PPMs, fact sheets, RFPs)
- Prepare responses to:
- Investor requests for information
- Track record analyses
- Third-party database queries
- Competitor benchmarking

Sales & Pipeline Oversight
- Maintain investor pipelines via Salesforce, tracking engagement, follow-ups, and reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing and executing:
- Investor meetings
- Roadshows
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Research & Analytics
- Portfolio Management
- RFP & Legal/Compliance
- Tax & Reporting Teams
Proactive Support
- Contribute to additional business development initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in financial services, including:
- Private equity
- Capital advisory/placement agencies
- Investment banking
Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office core tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word – particularly for data management and presentation.
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Clap/Ghostwriter, Copilot) is a plus.
- Salesforce or Intralinks experience is highly desirable.

- Excellent written and verbal communication to represent the firm professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong ability to be a self-starter—prioritise tasks, manage tight deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
- Effective both independently and collaboratively—ability to integrate with cross-functional teams is key.
- Attention to detail and analytic thinking to source and maintain accurate track record materials.
- Familiarity with private markets benchmarks and performance metrics to support investor queries, RFPs and competitive positioning.
