About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable and client-focused Consultant to join the team. Reporting to the Principal Consultant, this role is central to delivering our client's consulting services, with a focus on supporting clients to embed robust, credible, and impactful social sustainability practices. You will work directly with clients to design and deliver tailored solutions that reflect their organisational context, strengthen social value reporting, and drive measurable outcomes. This includes providing assurance and health check services - promoting and validating best practice in social value reporting, delivering training and advisory reports, supporting tender development and work-winning activities, and designing bespoke advisory approaches tailored to clients’ specific needs and maturity levels. A strong understanding of social value in UK procurement context is essential, alongside the ability to apply these insights to broader corporate ESG and sustainability agendas. Analytical strength, commercial awareness, and exceptional engagement skills are critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Advisory
- Scope client needs, develop tailored solutions, and lead the delivery of high-quality consulting services that are robust, insightful, and commercially relevant.
- Apply analytical and commercial thinking to identify opportunities, deliver efficiencies, and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and engagement activities to build client confidence and capability.
- Manage client queries, including evidencing outcomes, applying proxies, reviewing data inputs, and providing technical guidance.
- Contribute to bid writing and work-winning activities, producing clear, client-focused submissions.
- Use a systems-thinking approach to help clients address organisational challenges, improve efficiencies, and maximise social impact.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate.
- Represent client at events and conferences, sharing insights and contributing to industry thought leadership.

Social Value Expertise
- Provide expertise in social value measurement, strategy, and implementation planning.
- Conduct assurance and health check services, validating client data and promoting best practice in governance, processes, and reporting.
- Support clients in embedding social value frameworks and measurement across complex organisational contexts.
- Prepare and deliver training content, lunch-and-learn sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities both internally and externally to enhance confidence and impact literacy.
- Contribute to the development of the Impact Evaluation Standard (IES) by integrating client insights, industry trends, and feedback.
- Support the business relationship and customer success team by contributing to client discovery calls and responding to technical queries.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the Principal Consultant and wider team to enhance consulting offer, methodologies, tools, and resources.
- Mentor and support Junior Consultants, sharing knowledge, guidance, and practical insights.
- Collaborate across teams to improve overall client experience and ensure consistency in delivery.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content, ensuring accurate, timely, and client-focused communications to the market.
- Capture and share client insights that inform clients' product, framework, and training development.
- Develop tools, resources, and guidance materials that strengthen impact literacy, such as FAQs, case studies, or guidance notes.

Who we are looking for:
- Experienced social value consultant with a strong track record of delivering social sustainability initiatives and developing practical, evidence-based social sustainability strategies across private and public sector organisations.
- Proven experience managing projects and client engagements, operationalising social value frameworks, and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional communicator, able to build trust and credibility with clients and stakeholders at all levels, managing expectations effectively.
- Skilled in producing high-quality reports, research, and insights for senior stakeholders, including executive audiences, translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Practical experience embedding social value frameworks and measurement across organisational contexts, with a solid understanding of social value methodologies and reporting.
- Experience in delivering training, workshops, or knowledge-sharing sessions to build client capability.
- Experience in successful bidding and work-winning environments. Adept at crafting compelling, high-scoring social sustainability proposals.
- Digitally literate and confident using tools such as Excel, Canva, and InDesign to create professional, engaging outputs.
- Strong analytical mindset and commercial awareness, able to identify opportunities, deliver efficiencies, and implement client-focused solutions.
- Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality.
Pay range and compensation package
£50-70K Salary depending on experience plus company performance bonus
