Join Barnet Lane Clinic as an Associate Specialist, where you’ll work alongside an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports recovery and positive outcomes for service users.
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Undertake psychiatric and external assessments for people referred to the service
- Support the Consultant Psychiatrist in determining treatment needs and care pathways
- Contribute to the delivery of effective Care Programmes
- Prepare reports and clinical documentation for CPA meetings and reviews
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuous access to high-quality medical care, including participation in the on-call rota
You will also play an active role in clinical governance, policy development and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the ongoing development of the service and maintaining high professional standards. The role provides opportunities to support and supervise non-consultant doctors and other staff, while participating in learning, research and Continuing Professional Development activities.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need
- Full GMC registration
- Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams
- To be in good standing for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
- To be linked in with an appraisal/RITA process within the last year
- At least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry
- Experience working as a doctor within a similar environment
- MRCPsych (desirable)
- Section 12 (2) approval (desirable)
- AC status (desirable)

Where you will be working
Location: Barnet Lane, Elstree, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 3QU
Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models. The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
