Associate / Solicitor (2-5 PQE) – Motor Crime (Regulatory Crime) 📍 Manchester (with national travel) We’re looking for a lawyer with experience in defending motor crime investigations and prosecutions to join our specialist Regulatory Crime Department in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, market-leading team within a top 20 international law firm, recognised in the Legal 500 for its expertise in Motor Crime. The Opportunity You’ll work on a high-quality, often high-profile caseload, representing clients across England & Wales—from early police investigations through to trial. Typical matters include: Death by dangerous or careless driving Serious injury by careless driving Careless driving offences Drink driving, speeding, no insurance You’ll gain exposure to: Police station representation Criminal court proceedings Coroners’ Court work Complex cases supported by leading experts and King’s Counsel This is a unique chance to practice criminal defence within a corporate, insurer-backed environment (no legal aid work). The Team One of the UK’s largest Regulatory Crime teams 16 + specialist fee earners National client base across insurers, corporates, and private individuals Collaborative, supportive, and flexible working culture Who We’re Looking For We’re open to a wide range of candidates, including: NQ Solicitors, Legal Executives, and experienced lawyers (all PQE levels) Defence or prosecution backgrounds You’ll ideally have: Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System (England & Wales) Experience with or exposure to motoring offences Strong communication and client-handling skills A proactive, resilient approach in a fast-paced environment Willingness to travel nationally (full UK driving licence essential) Advocacy experience is beneficial but not required.
