Assurance Assistant - Help Us Run a Well-Governed Organisation
£36,407 per annum + benefits | Bath | Hybrid
Full Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week

That is where you come in. Joining our Governance and Assurance team, you'll help keep Curo's risk management, internal audit, fraud prevention and reportable events arrangements running smoothly, giving the Executive and Board the assurance they rely on.
This is a role for someone who takes pride in getting the detail right, enjoys bringing order to a varied workload and likes knowing their work helps keep the whole organisation on solid footing.
What You'll Be Doing
- Keeping our Strategic and Operational Risk Registers accurate and up to date, and supporting risk owners to review their risks, controls and actions
- Coordinating risk reporting and governance processes, including reporting to the Executive and Board Committees
- Coordinating the annual Internal Audit programme, scheduling audits and following up with action owners to evidence completion
- Tracking progress against audit recommendations and management actions, escalating overdue items promptly
- Supporting our fraud prevention and reportable events arrangements, and helping progress and report on actions
- Spotting trends and emerging risks across audits, incidents, complaints, fraud cases and reportable events
- Producing clear, timely reports for the business, the Executive and the Board
- Helping coordinate statutory and regulatory returns, and supporting wider governance and compliance reviews

More About You
You're well organised and work accurately, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. You stay calm under pressure, meet your deadlines and can handle sensitive issues with tact, including when working with senior colleagues.
Essential
- Experience of risk management, internal audit, assurance, compliance or fraud-related processes in any sector, alongside strong administration experience
- Experience of using systems to maintain registers, monitor actions and support reporting
- Confident user of Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to present information clearly
- Able to work independently and handle day-to-day enquiries without needing to refer to a manager
