AST Housing Support Worker

Rotherham, UK
About Us
At Target Housing, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future. As a charity and registered social landlord with over 30 years of experience, we’ve been transforming lives through safe, stable accommodation and tailored support. Our approach is rooted in psychological and trauma-informed practice, empowering individuals to regain control, build resilience, and achieve independence. We’re committed to delivering high-quality housing and support that enables people to reach their full potential and play a positive role in their communities.
A Typical Week
As an AST Housing Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping people take meaningful steps toward independent living. Managing a diverse caseload across South Yorkshire, you’ll provide personalised, trauma-informed support designed to help tenants thrive. No two days are the same. You’ll work across Barnsley, Doncaster, and Rotherham, collaborating with partner agencies and local services to build strong, wrap-around support networks. Alongside this, you’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team, with access to multiple Target Housing office bases.
Main Purpose of the Role
To deliver high-quality, person-centred housing and support services that empower residents to sustain their tenancies, overcome challenges, and develop the practical skills needed for independent living—such as managing finances, bills, and daily responsibilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
