About the Role
The role of Attainment Manager (Teaching Assistant) at Cannock Chase High School will involve providing specialised support to students with SEN (Special Educational Needs) across Key Stages 3–5 in both mainstream classrooms and the SEN base. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities
Support for Students with SEN
- Provide 1:1 or small group support aligned with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Invigilate exams for students requiring access arrangements.
- Modify and adapt printed material for visually impaired students (training provided).
- Overseen by a line manager with continual training and CPD as required.
Everyday Support & Intervention
- Offer pastoral care, ensuring student welfare and compliance with good safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
- Act as a point of confidence for students—exchange and report concerns under safeguarding guidelines promptly.
- Lead on lunch club, homework club, and targeted interventions to boost standards and confidence.
- Facilitate inclusive classroom dynamics, encouraging student engagement and peer interaction.
- Assist with KS2–KS3 transition and support students through examinations.
- Communicate with parents/carers as needed in a confidential, professional manner.
- Hold qualified First Aid certification (or ability to obtain quickly).

Additional Duties
- Ensure student expectations are consistently high and conducive to success.
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement structured interventions.
- Maintain ongoing record-keeping of provision implementation and progress.
